Dr. Sarmad Khamas
DMD, FAGD
Dr. Khamas’ journey started in Baghdad, Iraq, where he was born and raised. He graduated from Baghdad College, the number one ranked high school founded by American Jesuits in the 1930s. He received his first dental education from Baghdad University, and while he was a junior student, he worked for the U.S. Army Dental Corps and supported their mission in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After relocating to the U.S., he continued to sharpen his dental skills and knowledge and was admitted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2013. He later moved to the DMV area to be closer to family and friends.
Dr. Khamas is a highly skilled dentist serving the Germantown area. He is dedicated to providing high-quality dental care to patients with his signature compassionate, caring and understanding style. He has a passion for diagnosing and treating patients with sleep disorders. What distinguishes him from other providers is that he has been suffering from these problems himself and understands them not just professionally but also from his personal experience.
As an Ivy League dentist from one of the top dental schools in the nation, Dr. Khamas possesses extraordinary insight and clinical skills that set him apart from other dentists, particularly in the areas of reconstructive and cosmetic general dentistry.
Dr. Khamas is a firm believer in continued education. He was awarded as a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor that only 16% of general dentists achieve nationwide through continued education. He is an active member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Association of Endodontists, as well as the Spear Study club. In his spare time, Dr. Khamas enjoys spending time with his wife, Sura and 2 kids, Zane and Lana.
Kim Mohamed
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kim completed her bachelor’s degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 2012 and her associate’s degree in dental hygiene from West Liberty University in 2014. She joined our team in August 2020. She strives to make meaningful connections with her patients and loves being able to help them feel confident about their smile. Kim has experience in all areas of the dental office and is always ready to jump in and help wherever she is needed.
Kim is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Kelsey, have been married since 2017 and have a senior cat named Toulouse. They enjoy traveling whenever possible.
Derin Sabir
Dental Assistant / Patient care Coordinator
Driven by a love for both technology and dentistry, Derin brings a unique blend of technical expertise and compassionate care to our practice. With a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, she blends her analytical skills with a deep passion for dentistry to ensure a seamless and efficient office flow. Her attention to detail, organization, and dedication make her an invaluable member of our clinical team. Currently on the path toward dental school, Derin is committed to continuous learning and advancing her clinical expertise. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters, who are her greatest joy.
Carol Rigor
Insurance And Billing Coordinator
Carol has been working in the dental field for over 25 years. She has a current dental assistant license in the State of Maryland as of 1998. She was born and raised in the Philippines. She has resided in Montgomery County since 1994. Being in dentistry for more than 25 years, she is very knowledgeable when it comes to dental treatment and insurance. Her compassionate manner along with her knowledge makes accomplishing financial treatment goals achievable. With the experience she has, she is able to confidently answer any questions and provide patients with the highest level of care.
Besides working for Platinum Dental Group, Carol also loves to spend time with her family, enjoys cooking and working out.
Taillk Gomes
Dental assistant
Born in Brazil and having spent a significant part of his life in London, UK, Taillk Gomes brings a unique international perspective to his dental career. He graduated from dental school in Brazil and completed advanced training in Periodontics there. Taillk also holds a Master’s degree in Biomaterials from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and a dental hygiene certification from the state of Florida.
With over five years of experience working as a dental assistant in the United States, Taillk has developed a strong foundation in patient care and dental support. Passionate about providing exceptional care, he is a dedicated, hardworking team player. His positive attitude and camaraderie help create a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere in the office, making him a valuable asset to any team.
Currently, Taillk is undergoing interviews for dental schools in the U.S. as part of his commitment to completing his qualifications and becoming a licensed dentist in America. He is deeply committed to lifelong learning and continually advancing his skills to provide the highest level of care to his patients.
Megan Dishman
Patient Care Coordinator
Megan Dishman is a dedicated dental professional with over five years of experience in the field. Born and raised in the DMV area, Megan is passionate about oral health and is pursuing her goal of becoming a dental hygienist. Known for her friendly demeanor and strong work ethic, she takes pride in providing excellent patient care and creating positive dental experiences. Outside of work, Megan is a proud mother of three who enjoys spending quality time with her family.
